Appeal

The current appeal is an initiative of a number of Bulgarian non-governmental organisations, aimed at disaster relief organizations and international friends of Bulgaria.

Working with ongoing efforts of governmental and non-governmental institutions and businesses in Bulgaria and abroad, we launch this campaign with the intention of:

• Providing assistance to the affected people and areas;
• Supporting mechanisms for community, business and institutional collaboration to prevent of similar disasters in the future.

Your help will support actions in the affected areas that by:

• reconstructing dilapidated houses and public buildings in the most severely affected areas;
• enabling cleaning and recovery of riverbeds and introducing urgent measures for flood prevention which are sensitive to the environment;
• helping to create sustainable local early warning systems.
